ARGH too much revision and coursework! i think all my coursework is going to be done for tomorow! but then its revision and i do psyc and soc, and get them all confused together...
If you asked me what the butler act was id probably throw you in a ditch whilst telling you it is the 1944 butler act which implemented a "fairer" system which ended up being fixed. It started a 11+ IQ test and 3 schools, secondary modern, grammar and technical schools and girls results were fixed.
but now if you were to ask me WHO did WHAT WHEN? id cry
anyone got same prob? and you people should be throwing me revision help!

Lol well if you ever need anyone to test your knowledge I can test your soc. Which units are you doing? Cos I did Education (dropped 3 marks), Family (dropped 9) and Religion (dropped 9) and I'm doing crime and deviance now for my final unit. So if you're doing any of them I can help out if you want. Oh stupid me it seems you are doing Education, good! 1988 act was the marketisation of education, a policy put forth by the conservatives to bring about a higher standard of education that was also fairer in the form of comprehensive schools. Some areas such as Tameside refused to give up the 11+ though and continue to operate the tri-partide system. The new marketisation unfortunately means that some schools are oversubscribed and thus get more funding while others are struggling for children and funding, get worse results and as such lose funding and become useless Of course the means of comparison are unfair since oversubscribed schools start with A-grade students and look better in the results when their students get As... whereas a value-added system would show that they have only maintained the child's grade, whereas a "worse" school starts with a grade E child and gets them up to a C which should show up as better but doesnt. I rock hehe. If you're wondering why I still remember that shite its cos the Crime adn Deviance unit is synoptic so I have to bring in info from as many different units as poss to get a good grade!
