how do you all feel about ID cards?
They are not going to be mandatory but will be advised...

id rather have thumb print scans instead of i.d. cards because i.d. cards can easily be forged, or the details changed.

It's a nice idea, and would be good implemented over time, but ID cards are cheap

thumb prints are kinda dodgy. imagine if the databases got into the wrong hands. I like the idea of i.d cards. But the cost is a bit off putting. And we already have passports. theyre like a bloody i.d card.

Power Corrupts. Absolute Power Corrupts Aboslutely.
If the database is mis-used then the consequences could be catastrophic. They would have power over every man, woman and child in the country

Its a complete waste of time and money. For a start you DON'T have to carry them if you don't want to and you can't get into any trouble for not having one. The idea of implanting retinal scanners fails as well due to the fact the goverment has already admitted they dont work on people with brown eyes. So thats about 1/3 of the population out then.
There's more reasons but I forget them. Im sure there was at least two other signifigant faults with them.

i have brown eyes....i guess im fucked.....i think it would be more than one third of the population, its like 40%brown 40% blue and 20%green/other.
I am divided on this because i just dont have a side, i think they would be good if everyone HAD to have one with them at all times for ID purposes. but there would be draw backs.

I think DNA tests at every place. UBER expensive, but if we could find a quick way to run a DNA test we could use it instead of our pin code and passports n everything! Cos not that many people get their hands on our DNA, and we know itll be the NHS' fault if there is a leak so to speak hehe.
I honestly dont see how an ID card will actually help anything, drivers lisences, Passports and the existing voluntary ID cards all do the same trick; prove who you claim to be. They'll be forged just like everything else!
