Snoop Dogg's Mother Launches Nationwide Anti-Gang Campaign The mother of superstar rapper Snoop Dogg has helped create and launch The Mothers of Entertainers (M.O.E.), a new organization designed to help steer children away from gangs and violence. Beverly Broadus Green, an ordained evangelist, is kicking off a nationwide campaign starting at Epiphany School in Dorchester, Massachusetts tomorrow (Dec. 14). Green, who nicknamed her son “Snoop” because of his resemblance to the peanuts character Snoopy, said her recently launched organization aims to help underprivileged children, abused women and homeless people. “For the last 15 years this has been a dream of mine" Green stated. “To reach out, touch and help the kids in the streets, the kids on drugs, the mothers on crack or Mothers who are experiencing domestic violence, it is my dream to help them." Other celebrity mothers in the process of becoming involved with the organization include the mothers of Britney Spears, Chris Rock, Kelly Price, Beyonce, Cedric the Entertainer, Hillary Duff and others. “I just spoke with Claudia Price [Kelly Price's mother] and she is so excited. “P. Diddy and I spoke and he told me to just call him and he would put me in touch with his mother. I am so excited and can't wait to be out there!" Ms. Green will speak to other schools and at risk children from Dec. 14-17 at other Boston area schools. Snoop’s newest album Welcome To Tha Chuuch: Tha Album hit stores today.

The three members of Expensive Tastes first collaborated in June when Wall chopped and screwed an album by the Transplants but it wasn't until September that they officially formed Expensive Tastes. Since then, the trio have gotten together twice in Barker's Los Angeles home studio and once at Wall's place down in Houston. Both Wall and Aston said fans can expect a single from Expensive Tastes to start making the rounds on the mixtape circuit this summer, though there is no firm release date for a full album. Jay-Z And Nas: How Real Bosses Move It's January in Connecticut, and although a few hundred people are all seeing the same thing, none of them can believe their eyes: Jay-Z and Nas — the two men who once engaged in arguably the greatest lyrical battle of all time— are standing together on top of the world. Figuratively, anyway. (Check out behind-the-scenes photos of Jay-Z and Nas.) Literally, the two are standing on a table in the Foxwoods Resort Casino's Hard Rock Cafe while a DJ plays songs by both hip-hop legends. "Girls, Girls, Girls" comes on and everyone is dancing. When "Made You Look" follows, nobody stops partying. The record spinner drops Jay's "Streets Is Watching," sending everyone into a euphoric frenzy. "Hate Me Now" comes on and shakes the building. With smiles spreading and liquor flowing, Jay throws what appears to be a few thousand dollars into the crowd. Unbelievable. Jay and Nas went public with their behind-the-scenes animosity for each other in 2001 when Hov dropped "The Takeover" and Nas came back with "Ether." Although in recent years both have said they were done with the feud, they haven't exactly been eating Thanksgiving dinner at each other's houses. Last October, Jay-Z and Nas were seen publicly together for the first time in almost 10 years, coming together twice onstage to declare unity. But this time it's different. It's been a couple of months since they first shocked the world, and now the alliance has become official: Nas is signed to Def Jam, and he and Jay are on the same team. Tonight at Foxwoods, they actually look like friends. "We was there and vibing on the table," Jay recalled of his night of revelry with Nas and Island Def Jam employees and executives. As he spoke to MTV News' Sway, Nas was sitting right beside Jay. It was the first time the two had ever sat together for an interview. "It was so surreal," Hov continued. "I was looking at the crowd, and they was in shock. It wasn't planned. I didn't say, 'At 12:45 we're gonna get on the table and wild out together.' " And while it's impossible to plan a special moment like that one, you also can't plan out the course of a relationship, he pointed out. It's not a date you can say, 'We're friends today,' " he explained, getting a big chuckle from Nas. "But you can say it's respect [between us], and from respect, anything is possible." Nas agreed that even though he and President Carter were each other's toughest opponents in a war of words, they never lost respect for one another. "In the midst of a battle, you never know how it's gonna turn out," Nas explained. "All you know is that you're gonna fight to the finish. In the middle of it, that's how it was. It was always respect, it wasn't that he wanted to gun me down or I wanted to gun him down. It was never that. That's not how real bosses move or real men move." Now that Nas is officially partnering with Jay-Z, the two said, they'll definitely be working together — a duet at the very least is imminent. "It's bigger than both of us," Jay said. "It's not really about us. I mean it is, but it really isn't. It's more about the culture, about showing people another way, because [the battle] we staged was something that stopped the world. Now everyone emulates the battle. 'If I do that, I can get attention drawn to me.' Now everyone is emulating the end result. So now we have to show them another way." source MTV NEWS!

He is going to model it on his wang and he claims he isnt going to doctor the size at all Bet it comes to about 18 inches when its released. His excuse is that he believes so many people want to have sex with him that he wants them to be able to feel like they are! What's next, an anal pocket for his gay fans? I think its rude for him not to release that actually wonder how hed react to that suggestion....

Young Jeezy Arrested After Altercation In Miami Atlanta, Georgia rapper Young Jeezy was arrested Saturday morning and charged with two counts of carrying a concealed firearm without a permit, after the rapper was involved in an altercation on South Beach in Miami, Florida. Young Jeezy, born Jay Jenkins, and an entourage of men allegedly associated with BMF, were involved in a fight with a group of men around 5:30 am on Saturday (Mar. 11). When a person filming the altercation refused to turn over the video camera, one of the men in the crowd began firing. Police said Jeezy and a group of men, fled in two SUV's. When officers stopped both vehicles, they found a semiautomatic weapon under the seat of the rapper's Infiniti Qx56, as well as another gun near the arm rest. Two other men with Young Jeezy were also arrested in connection with the incident. One man was charged with strong armed robbery, the other was arrested on a previous trespassing warrant. The rapper's attorney said he will fight the charges and denied ownership of any of the weapons that were recovered from the SUV.

T.I. TEAMS UP WITH SPRINT TV T.I. seems to be pulling out all the stops as he preps for the release of his fourth album, KING, which drops March 28. As part of an exclusive campaign, Atlantic Records has partnered with Sprint to offer customers the opportunity to download songs from T.I.’s upcoming Grand Hustle/Atlantic release before it’s even available in stores. The pact also allows Sprint customers to have access to exclusive ringers, Call Tones and images. Any time between now and March 28, Sprint customers will be able to download full songs from the Sprint Music Store such as “What You Know” and “Ride With Me.” The week of the album’s release, fans will then be able to download an exclusive video titled “Life with T.I.” The video will contain behind the scenes footage of the Atlanta rapper as he makes his rounds promoting the album. The content can be accessed via www.ringaking.com. Also in conjunction with the promo, T.I. will be Sprint’s “Featured Artist of the Month” for April. Atlantic president Julie Greenwald explained the business move via a press release. “It is through innovative campaigns such as this that we are redefining our release strategy, as we are constantly seeking out unique, non-traditional ways to capture the consumer’s attention and drive new music sales.” LEELA JAMES GETS LIVE ON THE ROAD AND ON ITUNES Leela James is blessing fans with the chance to check out her live show in the comforts on their own home—or on the subway on the way work. Thanks to a deal with iTunes, a digital EP of James’ November 2004 live performance at the New Orleans House of Blues will go on sale exclusively on tomorrow (March 14). It will be made available to other online retailers two later on March 28. The show features songs from James’ debut album, A Change is Gonna Come. The live show goes on sale the day after she’s scheduled to appear with Marc Broussard and Solomon in a tribute to Wilson Pickett at the 2006 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony; the show will air on VH1 on March 21. This is shaping up to be a busy week for James, who will also begin filming the video for “Good Time,” the second single from her album. The video will be shot by Coodie and Chike. She’ll then return to the road, where she’s currently touring with KEM. ISAAC HAYES WANTS OUT OF “SOUTH PARK” Legendary soul crooner/composer Isaac Hayes wants out of his “South Park” contract. Hayes, who has voiced the sexually suggestive cafeteria worker “Chef” since the show’s 1997 debut on Comedy Central, released a statement saying that he can longer be a part of the show due to “recent episodes and press that have embarked upon what he feels are inappropriate ridicule of religious communities.” It is believed that Hayes is referring to a recent episode in which the show’s creators poked fun at the Scientology religion, which Hayes is a part of. “There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins. Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honored. As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices,” Hayes went on to say. However, “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker told The Associated Press that Hayes was made aware of their intentions to spoof the religion and maintain that in fact, they made every effort to be respectful of Hayes’ religious beliefs. In ten years and over 150 episodes of ‘South Park,’ Hayes never had a problem making fun of Christians, Muslims, Mormons and Jews,” Stone said. “To be honest, what kept us from doing it before was Isaac Hayes,” The New York Post quotes Parker as saying last year. “We knew he was a Scientologist and he’s an awesome guy.” JAY-Z THE REAL ESTATE MOGUL? Now that he has conquered the music world, could Jay-Z be preparing to conquer real estate as well? According to The New York Post, Jiggaman and NBA star-turned-real-estate-mogul Magic Johnson were overheard at Manhattan’s Philippe Restaurant finalizing plans for Jay-Z to buy property in Harlem. However, his rep is denying that claim.

C-MURDER’S MURDER CHARGES OVERTURNED
More than four years after he was jailed and ultimately convicted on second-degree murder charges, rapper Corey “C-Murder” Miller could be released as early as today following a surprising overturn of his murder conviction last Friday (March 10). Miller had been jailed since the January 2002 shooting death of 16 year-old Steve Thomas outside the Platinum Club in Harvey, La.
A Louisiana Supreme Court judge overturned the conviction and ordered a new trial after agreeing with a lower court judge who said the jury should have been made aware of the criminal backgrounds of several witnesses who testified against Miller during his trial. His lawyer, Ron Rakosky, told The Times-Picayune that he would try to get his client released as early as today (March 13). “He should be released. If they want to retry him, let them go do it. But I don’t think he should be locked up until the new trial,” Rakosky said. The D.A.’s office has not yet announced whether it would seek a new trial.
Months after his September 30, 2003 conviction on second-degree murder charges for his role in the beating and shooting death of Thomas, Judge Martha Sassone ordered a new trial based on the grounds that the prosecutors failed to inform the rapper’s defense attorneys about the criminal background of several witnesses called to testify against Miller. An appeals court later reversed Sassone’s decision in 2005, saying that even without the witness accounts, there was still enough evidence against Miller to properly convict him. However, the Louisiana Supreme Court reinstated Sassone’s initial ruling, stating that her decision to grant him a new trial “reflects a painstaking review of evidence presented at the trial and in the course of 13 post-conviction hearings.”

Posted on March 14, 2006 -- Since his initial 1986 debut on the hip hop scene with controversial rap group N.W.A., Ice Cube has remained relevant in a genre that has repeatedly dissed its pioneers. And whether he is making movies, running his production company (Cube Vision), or directing box-office smash films, Cube is consistently pushing the envelope -- and America's hot buttons. This time, as an executive producer of the groundbreaking new FX reality series, "Black.White.", Cube is pulling the race card and boldly shoving it in America's face. With all of his multi-platform success, has the Compton, Calif.-bred rapper gone Hollywood and turned away from his musical roots? Not hardly. Look for Cube to come back strong with a new album, Laugh Now, Cry Later. First things first, your show, "Black.White.", debuted on FX recently and it has cause quite a stir in both the Black and White communities. Was this what you envisioned when you became a part of the show? Ice Cube: I just wanted to get a dialogue [going] and to get people talking about race. I wanted the show to reflect that there is still a problem with race relations in America and that there are many layers to dealing with the subject. Until people talk about it and get an understanding of what is going on, there will really be no solution. I really don’t care what people say about me, because honestly I am used to it [laughs]. My intent when I say these things aren’t to offend anyone, it’s to hopefully open the viewers' or the listeners' eyes to see that there are problems out there and to get people to talk about them. I think everyone has a racist point of view, and that’s why these shows and people address the issue head on -- whether it be through a record or whatever -- what's needed is to get people talking and dealing with their own selves. There is never a clear cut or simple solution to any problem and that is why I say the things I say and do the things I do because if no one brings them up, people have a tendency to think that it doesn’t exist. Let's step back to your music for a minute. Your new album, Laugh Now, Cry Later, is expected to be released in June. What can fans expect from you this time around? Ice Cube: Fans will get a little of the old and something new. I definitely tried to give them some of the new me without leaving out the old. I am talking about a lot of things that are dealing with the state of life, America, hip hop, and the world today. So I definitely have the gangster records, but I also have the records with something to say which brings out the laugh now, cry later aspect of the record. You have quite a universal appeal in Hollywood thesedays. Are you worried that you will experience backlash in your acting career for the heavy political and social consciousness themes on your album's songs, “Black. White” and “Why We Thugs"? Ice Cube: Not really. I started my career doing records and saying what I feel. I am not going to avoid doing that and not be true to myself or hip hop to avoid [hurting] somebody in Hollywood’s feelings. I think that when you are doing hip hop, it should come from the heart. It should be how you feel and how you see it. So, I am just going to let the chips fall where they may because in Hollywood I have always been known to create my own lane. No one has ever walked and given me anything because I’m Cube. I had to earn it. It seems like you have reunited with a few of your old crews. You are working with WC on your upcoming album and the album is released on Lench Mob Records. Could a future reunion with you, Mack 10 and Da Lench Mob be in the works? Ice Cube: [Mack 10 and I] haven’t talked about anything yet. I am going to work with WC on his album and then I will start working on my next album after that. So as of right now, I am not sure what, or if, we will do a project. As far as with Da Lench Mob, they are still disbanded. Honestly, I am really trying to press forward and not look back. Now, I have a new squad and a new family that I’m rolling with and I am going to move forward from here. A while ago, there was a rumor that there was beef between you and Dr. Dre because he didn’t want to work with you on your album. What was the real story? Ice Cube: That’s not true. I respect Dre and everything he is doing in the game. I know that [even though] we couldn’t do anything on this record, we may on the next. I don’t know. But I do know that if he wants us to work together, we will. If not, I will keep it moving. We are both business men, so there would never be any beef over something like that. Here at BET.com, we recently interviewed Luke and he told us that due to his persona, he didn’t receive a lot of credit for paving the way [for some rappers]. Do you feel that your album may be overlooked because of your age in relation to the younger competition out there now? Ice Cube: Sometimes the industry tries to snub off the older MC for the new light or the unsigned hype. But to me, the industry is like the NFL: the older you get, the more you are dismissed for the rookies coming in. I think that’s a shame because if you are an artist, it doesn’t matter what age you are. If you are dropping records that people are excited about, that’s all that should matter. Honestly, that is what the older emcee is striving for, to make sure that each album he drops gets the people just as excited as a new artist does. As an MC, we want to make sure that our place in history is set and I think that is where Luke’s frustration comes from. After all his hard work and what he has done in the game, there is no one saying ‘thank you’ for it. That’s why when I do my records, I make sure that they are from the heart, because at the end of the day you may be the only one left with the records and I want to make sure that at the end of the day, at least I can say I am proud of everything I said because it was true to me and what I felt at that moment.
